There are still some beautiful colored leaves on the trees, which means November is an excellent time for outdoor portraits, but they won’t last much longer, so now is the time.
October/November have been very busy here at Dengrove Studios so far. I had a shoot with a new model recently. You’ll see more photos of her in the coming weeks, but for now you can view a new portrait of her in the portrait gallery.
Speaking of the website, there are new photos up in the portrait, boudoir, and artistic nude galleries, including photos from the Phoenix shoot with Patrice last month.
This weekend I will be shooting at a new abandoned location. We will have multiple models and a great atmosphere, look for those photos in the coming weeks, they should be quite spectacular.
As we approach Thanksgiving, it means that the holidays are just around the corner. This is the time to start thinking of photos for holiday cards. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and a beautiful fall.
October is here already, can you believe it? It seems like we never actually got a summer and then all of sudden we’re plunged into fall. There’s nothing wrong with that though, fall creates some beautiful scenery for portraits or other outdoor photography. Not to mention the perfect spooky atmosphere for a costume shoot.
As always last month was jam packed. The “10th Annual International Erotic Art Exhibition Continued” where I was a featured artist just concluded and it was such a sense of accomplishment to have my work featured there. Although, it did not sell, it might have won an award. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to find that out. But, as the suspense builds submissions begin for the “11th Annual International Erotic Art Exhibition” next week. I have several great photos that I’m working on for submission to the next show, so stay tuned for details!
My trip to Phoenix was a great success as I got to shoot with the lovely Patrice again. She’s the model who appears in my work entitled “Punished” that was featured in the Art Exhibition. You’ll see some more beautiful shots of this talented model in the weeks to come on the website.
Speaking of the website, do go and take a look www.dengrovestudios.com there are new photos posted in the portrait, themes, and artistic nudes gallery.
The new photo appearing in the nude gallery was taken at a new abandoned location that I had the pleasure of photographing at. This is thanks to a fellow photographer, Lauren Freedman, of LaLaLauren Photography. Lauren and I had the chance to collaborate on 2 photoshoots in September and should have more coming up. If you like things scary, creepy, or weird, you’ll love her work. Check out her portfolio at www.modelmayhem.com/pics.php?id=1071106
I wish everybody a scary, and safe Halloween. Until next month.
So this is it, the last weekend of summer. Well “unofficially” anyway, it’s still sad when summer comes to an end, though. But the shooting doesn’t have to! September is a great time for a photo shoot. You can still get gorgeous summery photos even though it’s September. Did you know that this is the best time for a beach shoot? Absolutely, the crowds are gone, the weather is still warm, and your body is still looking it’s best. And we’re still waiving our location fee, so there’s no excuse not to!
August was a very exciting month here at Dengrove Studios. I am please to announce, that I have been officially accepted as a Featured Artist in the upcoming “10th Annual International Erotic Art Exhibition Continued” for my photo entitled “Punished”. The show is Sept 25 – Oct 3 in Detroit, MI. Look for the results of the show in the next newsletter. In the meantime, you can see the photo for yourself in the Glamour Gallery on our website at www.dengrovestudios.com.
And speaking of the website, if you haven’t taken a look lately, what are you waiting for? There are new photos in the Portrait, Pin-Up, Boudoir, and Artistic Nude Galleries. Plus the navigation for the galleries has been completely re-designed. Have you felt that the photos were a little small in size? Me too, so now all of the galleries have been turned into virtual light boxes so you can view the photos full sized. Go check it out, you’ll be glad you did.
I’ll be traveling quite a bit for the month of September but am currently lining up some shoots for the road. I’ll be headed to Vegas, Rochester, and Phoenix again, so keep on the lookout for some new photos. And of course, if you know anyone in these cities who is looking to shoot, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Have a great holiday weekend!
This newsletter is bit late this month, please forgive me, I’ve been on the road quite a bit lately and fell a little behind. Summer is drawing to a close, but there’s still plenty of time to squeeze in some beautiful outdoor photos, whether you are the photographer or the one being photographed.
July saw several projects here at Dengrove Studios. I completed my second shoot in an abandoned location. This time it was an abandoned insane asylum in Rockland County, NY. It was definitely creepy, but resulted in some great images. Look for them to be posted shortly.
August is a great time to have a swimsuit shoot done. The weather is warm, skin is tan, and by now everyone has gotten their bodies into perfect shape for the summer. Speaking of which, I will be shooting a beach shoot with a model in a week or two that should produce some very striking images.
If you or anyone you know would like to schedule your own beach shoot, simply click here and fill out the form. For a limited time we’ll wave the location fee. That’s a $50 value!!
Don’t forget to visit the new Dengrove Studios Blog. Currently we are in the middle of our 5-part series discussing how to use the different exposure modes on your camera. You are guaranteed to pick up some great photography tips, no matter what skill level you have and type of camera you use!
I hope everyone has a great end to the summer, and as always comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated, and now you can post them on the blog. If you have need of a photographer or know anyone who does we are always looking for new projects and business.
Happy 4th of July,
There is a lot going on here at Dengrove Studios this summer. First off, as you can see this little update is now being called an official newsletter. It occurred to me that I was sending this about once a month, so I thought it only fitting that we make it an official newsletter.
Last month I had two “on the road” shoots while I was in Phoenix on business for my day job. Both turned out to be quite a success as they produced some new images in the Glamour and Boudoir galleries. I also recently had a shoot with my second “alternative model” in Brooklyn, which was a great success. Look for those photos to be posted soon.
Speaking of the website, if you havent taken a look at the site lately now is a great chance. We have completely changed the navigation of the website. You will notice the links have changed on the left side of the page and created several new groups of menus. The new interface makes the website less cluttered in addition to making the site load a lot faster. Check it out at www.dengrovestudios.com
I would also like to announce the addition of several articles and the opening of the Dengrove Studios Blog! The blog has been set up as a place to learn about photography for both beginner and intermediate photographers and enthusiasts and learn about the latest news and information from Dengrove Studios. There is something there for everyone from dear old grandma taking pictures of the kids birthday party, to the aspiring photographer who just bought his new DSLR camera. You can access the blog at www.dengrovestudios.com/blog or by visiting the link on the website. If you missed any of our other newsletters, you will be happy to know, they are all archived right on the blog.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday, and as always comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated, and now you can post them on the blog. If you have need of a photographer or know anyone who does we are always looking for new projects and business.
June is here and there are lots of exciting things going on at Dengrove Studios
First off, in my update last month I told you about my first upcoming “on the road shoot” while I was in Houston. It was a rousing success as it produced some very beautiful images. I also got very lucky as my original shoot for one model turned into two when she brought her friend along who is also a model.
The second shoot which I hinted to in my last update turned out to be quite amazing. I ended up shooting a model at an abandoned power plant. The location was something to behold, as this place had not been in operation since the 1960s. It was incredible to see the state of decay as nature struggled to reclaim the building and everything in it.
May also saw a shoot of my first “alternative” model which came out quite beautiful. We shot in a lovely forest setting.
Speaking of new photos, the website has recently been updated with lots of new ones. Including some from the Houston shoot, “alternative shoot”, and the abandoned power plant shoot. New photos are posted in the Portrait, Pin Up, Themes, and Boudoir galleries. You can view them at www.dengrovestudios.com. Feel free to take a look, and as always feedback and comments are greatly appreciated.
This month, I have a few shoots I am working on which I am very excited about. After the success of my last “on the road” shoot, I am currently in Phoenix where I will be shooting 2 local models. I also have a shoot at another abandoned location lined up for this month. Also, look for more photos from the May shoots to be posted on the website in the coming weeks as I finish retouching them.
Have a great month of June everybody, and if you know anyone who would like to have a photo session or is in need of a photographer, we are always looking for new business. Thank you for your continued support.
I hope everyone had a lovely Mothers Day and is enjoying the nice NY weather now that the rain has finally stopped. As promised in my last message to you, I wanted to announce that the Dengrove Studios Website has now been updated with a ton of new people photos.
When you visit the galleries you will notice a lot more categories have been added. This has enabled me to show off a larger range of work. Please take look when you get a chance and enjoy. You can view the updates at http://www.dengrovestudios.com. As always feedback is appreciated and welcomed.
There are 2 shoots coming up this month which I am quite excited about…I will be traveling to Houston for my “day job” in the trade show industry and have arranged a shoot with a local model while I am down there. It should be interesting as it will be my first “shoot on the road”. I dont want to reveal too much about the second shoot just yet, but Im hoping it will produce some striking images unlike anything I have in my portfolio at this time.
If you know anyone who would like to have a photo session or is in need of a photographer, we are always looking for new business. In addition, we are also extending the “Friends and Family” 10% discount through the end of May. As a subscriber to the mailing list your friends and family can receive a 10% discount on any of our photo packages. Simply use the promo code “MAILINGLIST” when scheduling a shoot.
